Agents and brokers are required to be licensed in the states in which they sell insurance products, with licensing requirements varying by state. The Licenses page within Agent Details allows companies to track licensing information for Agents and Organizations.
License records can be entered manually or created through an import.

Purpose of License Tracking
The Licenses page is used to:
- Store state licensing information for Agents and Organizations
- Track license status, effective dates, and expiration dates
- Support reporting and compliance review
- There are no validations tied to commission calculation
- License status does not currently block commission processing or payments
At this time, license data is informational only:
License Information Fields
The following information is captured for each license record:
- License ID: Required identifier for the license as issued by the state.
- State: Required state in which the license is issued.
- Status: Indicates whether the license is Active or Inactive.
- License Type: Identifies whether the license is Resident or Non‑Resident.
- Perpetual Indicator: Indicates whether the license does not expire.
- Line of Authority: Identifies the line of authority associated with the license.
- Effective Date: Required date when the license becomes effective.
- Expiration Date: Date when the license expires, if applicable.
- Notes: Optional field for additional details or internal comments.
Managing License Records
- Select Add to create a new license record.
- Existing licenses can be reviewed and updated as needed.
- License records created through imports follow the same structure and are displayed on this page.
When finished entering or updating license information, select Save to apply changes to the Agent or Organization record.
Reporting Considerations
License information stored on this page can be used in reporting to:
- Review Agent licensing by state
- Identify active or inactive licenses
- Track upcoming or expired licenses
However, license data does not currently drive any automated system behavior related to commissions.
