Remove Imports

There is a feature that remove records that have been created from some imports.

There is a feature that removes records that have been created from some imports. The Imports that can have the records removed are:

  • Transactions
  • Chargebacks
  • Adjustments
  • Policy Debit Balance by Agent
  • Agent Balance & 1099

You select the Import type, then enter File Name used for the import, then select remove.

Records that were created from the imports must all be in Open status. If they are in pending status (in an open cycle), then the cycle must be cancelled first. If any of the records created are in a Processed status from going through a cycle that was closed, the remove feature cannot be used.

After the records from a file have been successfully removed, the status of the file will display ‘Removed’ in the File History page.

To prevent confusion of old and new records from files with the same file name, the same file name cannot be used for import types that have the option to be removed. However, if a file is removed, the file name can be used again, so that a file can be removed, corrected, and then imported again.

Additional Notes on Removing Imports:

  • While at this time other imports other than the ones described do not have a remove option, they typically can have updates made to the file and then re-imported to correct mistakes.
  • If no records were successfully loaded in your import because the file failed or no records were successfully loaded, and then you try to remove the file, it will display 'File not found'.
  • If you have already removed a file, forgot to re-import again, then try to remove the file an error message "Batch ID is invalid or not eligible for removal' will be displayed.

Remove Policy Debit Balance by Agent

The Policy Debit Balance by Agent is used when migrating a book of business into Comissio that has been paying Advances. The import adds details for the Advance and Advance Recovery so that the unrecovered advance amount, the debit balance’ can be determined and drive future calculations for recovering the advanced amount.

The Process is the same as removing other imports, select Import Type, enter File Name, then select Remove.

The Imported Debit Balances cannot be removed if the Policy is in an open cycle. If the open cycle is cancelled, the import can then be removed. Imported Debit Balances cannot be removed if the Policies have gone through a closed cycle. For this reason, it is critical after importing Debit Balances in the Policy that it is tested thoroughly prior to closing a cycle.

As with other Import Types that can be removed, a validation is in place in the Import page so that the same file name cannot be used more than once for the Policy Debit Balance by Agent Import.

Remove Agent Balance & 1099

The Agent Balance & 1099 Import allows for import amounts for both of those balances. When implementing Comissio, it is best to import 1099 balances from previous legacy systems, so the total 1099 balance is reflected in Comissio. The Agent Balance part of the import is used with the Policy Debit Balance by Agent Import when migrating a book of business into Comissio that has been paying Advances.

The Process is the same as removing other imports, Select Import Type, enter File Name, then select Remove.

The Imported Agent Balance and 1099 amounts cannot be removed if one of the Agents in the file is currently in an open cycle. Once the cycle is cancelled, the import can then be removed. Imported Agent Balance and/or 1099 amounts cannot be removed if the Agents go through a closed cycle after the file was imported. For this reason, it is critical after importing Debit Balances in the Policy that it is tested thoroughly prior to closing a cycle.

As with other Import Types that can be removed, a validation is in place in the Import page so that the same file name cannot be used more than once for the Agent Balance & 1099 Import.
