Q. Do I need to be appointed/contracted with Anthem to sell Individual and Family plans?

Yes, you must be appointed/contracted with Anthem to sell plans and receive commissions for Individual and Family plan policies.

Q. Are there appointment fees with Anthem?
A.
Yes, appointment fees vary based on state, product and legal entity.
Q. How long does it take to get appointed/contracted with Anthem?
A.
It generally takes 3 to 5 business days to process assuming that all information is provided. If there is missing information, additional reach outs will be made to the agent which will extend the processing time.
Q. Once I’m officially appointed/contracted by Anthem, can I start selling right away?
A.
Yes, once you receive your official email confirmation and your assigned broker number, you can start selling immediately. To earn commissions, you will need to enter your ten digit encrypted ID on file with Anthem by adding it to Online Application Settings on Quotit platform. Please use the following steps below.

- Log into your Quotit account www.quotit.net
- Go to the “Settings” Tab
- Click on “Online Application Settings” under the “Individual & Family: Agency Preferences”
- At the bottom of the page click on the “Add” button.
- Select your “State”, “Product Type” and the “Company Name”
- Enter “10 digit Encrypted ID” by copying and pasting into “Text Area” to “Encrypted Agency TIN” & “Encrypted Agent TIN”
- Under “Paper Application Settings” enter “Writing Number 10 digit Encrypted ID on file with the company.”
- Select “Writing Number Type”
- Select “Company ID”
- Select “Save"
Steps Enabling Consolidated App. Feature
- Log into your Quotit account www.quotit.net
- Select “Settings” Tab
- Under Individual & Family: Website Settings select “ePro Web Report Layout”
- Under Manage IFP Report Layout and Settings: Turn on “Shopping Cart Feature”
- Under Select Report Layout: “Select Shopping Cart Layout”
- Under How Your Clients Apply for Plans: select “Consolidated Online Application Enrollment”
- Select “Save My Settings” at the bottom right hand-side
Q. If I’m already appointed to sell Anthem Medicare plans, do I have to be appointed separately to sell Individual and Family plans?
A.
Yes. Anthem does require separate appointments for Medicare and under 65 plans. If you have any questions regarding contracting, please contact Quotit Agency Services at 844-961-9696.
Q. If I’m already appointed to sell Anthem group plans, do I have to be appointed separately to sell Individual and Family plans?
A.
No, as long as you have an existing appointment with Anthem in the applicable state(s), you can also sell our plans for individuals. If you have any questions regarding contracting, please contract Broker Services.
Q. If I’m appointed/contracted by Anthem to sell in one state, can I sell in another?
A.
You may only sell in the states where you have already received an appointment. Refer to “How to get Appointed with Anthem” for guidance on how to get appointed for additional states.
Q. Where can I find information about the Individual and Family plans?
A.

Q. Are Individual and Family pediatric-only plans available?
A.
No, this Individual and Family product does not offer pediatric-only plans. However, Individual and Family plans include coverage for qualifying dependent children.
Q. My clients are ready to enroll - how does it work?
A.
You’ll use Quotit to generate a proposal for your client. Once they select the desired plan from the proposal, and add the following plans you can select “Cart” & “Checkout”. Once the plans are in “Checkout” you will be required to “Register” to complete the online application.
Q. How do I get credit for my individual sales?
A.
First, you must be appointed with Anthem. If you are already appointed, then you must make sure your settings in your Quotit account are set up to quote and complete enrollment for Anthem plans. Please call 866-4-Quotit for help with your Quotit account settings.
To ensure you get credit for the sale, be sure to have your 10 digit encrypted ID number by Anthem handy to enter it on the Quotit platform under “Settings” then “Online Application Settings.”
Manual
If your account is set up correctly, Quotit will automatically include your information on the manual paper application. However, if your information is not available, you will need to tell your clients to provide those details, including your broker ID, in the Agent/Producer Information section.
Q. When does my client’s coverage become effective?
A.
Once the completed application is submitted (with first month payment), depending upon the state, coverage typically begins on the first day of the current month or the first day of the following month. Effective date can vary by state, please refer to the state specific Anthem Individual application.
Q. How long are plan rates valid?
A.
Rates are guaranteed for one year from the enrollee’s effective date of coverage. Rates listed on Quotit are reviewed annually and updated if there are rate changes. You can always visit Anthem.com for the most up-to-date plan rates and details.
Q. When do enrollees pay plan premiums?
A.
Payment is due with the completed application and at the beginning of each month. Payment can be made in 3 ways:
- Bank auto withdrawal
- Credit/Debit card auto charge
- Monthly billing statement
Q. How do my clients renew their plans?
A.
Members should make sure they are all paid up for the current year and continue to make their monthly payments. They can also go to anthem.com.
Q. What is my commission for selling individual plans? When do they get paid?
A.
Commissions vary by state and product. For details please call Quotit Agency Services at 844-961-9696.
Q. Do I have to reach a minimum sales amount before receiving commissions?
A.
No. Commissions will be paid to you regardless of a minimum, as long as premiums are received from your client.
Q. Are the Individual and Family plan rates listed through Quotit different than if someone buys directly through Anthem?
A.
No, the rates for Individual and Family plans are the same as those available directly to consumers. It’s always best to check Anthem.com for the most up-to-date plan rates.
